Technical Update

October 12, 2005 - Exinda Networks Launch Partner Exclusive Knowledge Base.
As the latest addition to our Partner Portal, Exinda's Development & Support Teams are building a solid repository of technical information. Log on our Partner Portal and check it out.

October 26, 2005 - Exinda release 460-hf3 (Beta)
Access to 460-hf3 (Beta) is currently available through our firmware update section. Enhancements include Report Central, improved RTP & SIP Classification and an enhanced monitoring engine.

Information on all new features are detailed in the Release Notes available via our Updates section @ www.exinda.com/updates.

Public release is scheduled in the first week of November and will also coincide with the release of a host of new application signatures including applications such as Google Talk and Google Earth.

These updates can take place during business hours and typically consume as much bandwidth as possible. This can lead to a significant impact on critical services such as voice and other realtime applications.

Use the optimizer rules to minimize the bandwidth and priority of these applications during business hours in three easy steps:

:: Monitor the top URLs to identify if these updates are consuming your bandwidth.
:: Create a traffic type with the URL of the updates download site.
:: Create a policy of these traffic types and set a max bandwidth value and a low priority value.

Optional: set a schedule to apply these policies during business hours.
