New Auto Discovery & Jump Start Features

Exinda's new Auto Discovery feature further simplifies the installation of Exinda appliances by eliminating the need to point new appliances to the community of appliances. This feature works in conjunction with the Jump Start feature. When you place the new appliance into your network, it will automatically join its community of peers and begin optimizing and accelerating traffic via a default configuration.

The appliances' peer-to-peer architecture eliminates the need for a central community device. This architecture yeilds many benefits:

  • Simplifies installation - No need to configure appliances to point to a central node
  • Removes points of failure in the communty
  • Supports partly or fully meshed network environments
  • Deployment effort remains minimal no matter how many network sites you wish to optimize
  • No need to create tunnels

Exinda Introduces New v5.0 Firmware Making WAN Optimization Faster & Simpler

WAN optimization just got easier with the introduction of Exinda's new v5.0 firmware. The new firmware simplifes the installation of the appliances to 12 simple steps. With its new Auto Discovery and Jump Start features, you can begin optimizing and accelerating traffic immediately after installation. No complex configurations are required.

In addition to a simpler installation process, Exinda's new firmware delivers greater application performance improvements:

  • HTTP & CIFS acceleration can yield a 10x-75x application response time improvement
  • New hybrid caching has 1,000x more storage capacity for improved data reduction results
  • New stream-based caching yields further WAN capacity reductions.

Exinda's new v5.0 firmware is generally available as of April 2, 2008. For customers with a current software subscription, the new firmware can be downloaded for free.
